Heirloom & Heritage Festival Coming to Hillside Farm September 28–29

Nothing beats family. Maybe you have your grandmother’s eyes, an uncle’s laugh and your dad’s sense of humor. No matter what your genetic make-up is like, it all stems from our ancestors. One very important tradition from ancestors that holds strong without any help from science or genetics is food! We learn how to cook from those who raised us and we teach the next generation of food-curious family members. That’s why an event that celebrates the tradition of food is likely to draw the masses, people of all ages, for a wholesome good time!

This September, that event is the Hillside Farm Heirloom and Heritage Festival. On Friday, September 29th, Greener Partners invites you to celebrate the harvest at Hillside Farm with seasonal food, heritage breed animals, a pie bake off, hayrides, homestead demonstrations and an heirloom tomato contest! The event unfolds 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., is free to attend, and all ages are welcome!

As a precursor to the whole-hearted celebration, an old fashioned Square Dance and Pig Roast will take place the night before on the 28th from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. You’ll have to snag tickets for that special occasion and can even sponsor the event if you’re feeling extra generous.
