Restaurant Month Debuts in March in Chestnut Hill

The restaurant scene in Chestnut Hill is heating up! With the addition of six new restaurants over the past year, the Chestnut Hill Business Association thought it was time to celebrate and has coordinated the neighborhood’s first-ever Restaurant Month, which started March 1st.

Every restaurant along the CHBA’s 10-block stretch of Germantown Avenue – a total of 24 – is participating, and the theme for the event is Eat Up the Avenue. “Having 100 percent participation is amazing and reflects the collaborative spirit that is so strong in Chestnut Hill,” said CHBA Deputy Director Peg Miller.

Jimmy Contreras, who has been working with the restaurants, said, “Chestnut Hill is alive and well,” and that the town is on the “cutting edge of the restaurant scene in Philadelphia.”  He pointed out that Chip Roman, the owner of Mica, is featured this month in Esquire magazine.

Diners can enjoy three-course dinner menus priced at either $19.99 or $29.95 on Sundays through Thursdays throughout the month. Additional dinner, lunch and breakfast specials are also being offered at select restaurants.

Some of the notable specials include:

McNally’s Tavern will offer 3 of their famous “Schmitters” for $19.95 on Sundays for eat in dining. They will also have a sandwich of the day plus a cup of soup for $9.95.

Tavern on The Hill is offering Shamrock Suppers, which consist of a heaping corned beef and cabbage platter for $15. Their Leprechaun Lunch version will be $10.

Roller’s Expresso will serve breakfast specials of blueberry pancakes with your choice of bacon or sausage and a beverage OR an omelet with two fillings, home fries and a beverage. Your choice for $9.95.
