The city is a beautiful thing but sometimes it’s necessary to head back to our roots and get in touch with nature. A relaxing canoe ride on the Brandywine River might be just what you need – and if it’s followed by a BBQ, live music and dancing then you’ve hit the jack pot!
All that and more will be available at the Tip-A-Canoe and Barbecue, Too, hosted by Young Friends of the Brandywine Conservancy. On Saturday, July 14, they are encouraging everyone to enjoy our area’s natural beauty and open waterways. Along with their sponsors, Exelon Power Team, Montchanin Asset Management, Kalmar Investments, Delaware Today, Main Line Today, Trader Joe’s and Victory Brewing Company, the Young Friends of the Brandywine Conservancy are pleased to bring you a relaxing afternoon in touch with nature and an exuberant evening of fun activities and great company. Of course, Victory will be pouring to keep the fun times rolling.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing or a bathing suit appropriate for canoeing and water shoes. You may wish to bring a hat, sunscreen and insect repellant. You will want a change of clothes for the barbecue and dancing. You may also want to pack snacks and beverages for your canoe trip
There are many ticket options, keeping in mind that some people might just want to BBQ. Tickets may only be purchased in advance and this event always sells out. Check out their website and get your tickets now! Canoes must be reserved by July 10. Children over 2 years of age can canoe and children under 10 are free.
