A Year and a World: Hear the Story of Couple Who Sold Everything to Travel the Globe at Penn State Great Valley, April 25

We’ve all dreamed about selling our possessions and traveling around the world—on April 25 hear the story of a couple who actually did!

Join journalist Christine Maxfield at The Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley on Thursday, April 25, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. as she discusses the fascinating story of Larissa and Michael Milne, who, in 2011, sold all their belongings to travel around the world for a year. Learn about their adventures to some of the most fascinating locations in the world. Hear how their story of emotional pain and reinvention led them to turn to their longstanding passion for travel, beginning with a one-way plane ticket to Beijing, a 22-inch suitcase each, a statue of Rocky Balboa for encouragement and a rough itinerary. The ensuing 400-day journey to 30 countries on six continents was filled with adventure, new friends, many emotionally touching and taxing moments and surprising discoveries.

This compelling story of courage and strength was documented in a feature series for the Philadelphia Inquirer called “A Year and a World” and on the couple’s travel blog.

The event is free, but registration is required. Register here!

The Conference Center at Penn State Great Valley is located at 30 E. Swedesford Road, in Malvern.
