Looking for something to shake up your usual weekday routine? Search no further, as the Brandywine Conservancy & Museum of Art bring you an evening of whiskey sipping, a museum vault tour and a lively discussion about famous sculptor Wilhelm Schimmel.
Shimmel was known for his hand carvings of animals—more specifically, birds—from a simple hand knife. The German immigrant lived a very nomadic lifestyle during the Civil War era, often trading his sculptures for room and board.
Whether you’re a history buff or just looking to check out a new exhibit, make your way over to the Conservancy on Thursday, June 12, from 6–9 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and include light refreshments, a whiskey sampling and a full tour of the Lure of the Brandywine exhibit.
