Pennsylvania has been on the cutting edge of craft beer for some time and new breweries have been opening in record numbers over the last few years. With so much quality craft beer out there and many of the breweries only offering their beer on-site, how can a beer fan get a taste? Luckily, the Brew Kids on the Block, unfolding on Saturday, May 20, from 6–9 p.m. at the York ExpoCenter, is gathering the best of new Pennsylvania breweries for an exclusive tasting event.
Brew Kids is hosted by the Sons of the American Legion Post 403, the same group that brought beer fans together for Hibrewnation. If you attended Hibrewnation, you know that this won’t be your typical beer festival. Brew Kids is concentrating on all the great new breweries that have been open for five years or less in Pennsylvania. Each brewery will be serving at least four selections, so you’ll have a great opportunity to really get to know each one.
Breweries scheduled to participate include:
- Aldus Brewing Company (Hanover)
- Boneshire (Carlisle)
- Collusion Tap Works (York)
- Crystal Ball Brewing (York)
- Desparate Times Brewing (Carlisle)
- Gift Horse Brewing (York)
- The Brewery At Hershey (Hershey)
- Highway Manor Brewing (Camp Hill)
- ManchilD
- Manu Forti (New Freedom)
- Mexitaly (York)
- The Millworks (Harrisburg)
- Molly Pitcher Brewing Company (Carlisle)
- Moo-Duck Brewery (Elizabethtown)
- Rusty Rail (Mifflinburg)
- Tattered Flag (Middletown)
- Touchstone Brewing (York Haven)
Tickets are limited to 700 attendees, so there shouldn’t be long lines waiting for samples and attendees will have the opportunity to meet brewers and ask questions, too. Tickets are $23 per person and are available for purchase online or in person at several participating retailers.
