Want to step up your cocktail game this fall? Join sibling cocktail book authors André and Tenaya Darlington for a series of hands-on classes at Rally Coffee!
The brother and sister duo started having “happy hours” over Google Hangouts when they lived 900 miles apart, and in time, that turned into a project. And then, what began as a shared Google Doc became their first book, The New Cocktail Hour.
You can get a taste of what they’ve been working on, as the Darlingtons are offering three different workshops, each with a unique theme. Every workshop includes three craft cocktails, light bites, drink demos and a hands-on component (meaning you’re going to be shaking up some drinks!). Join André and Tenaya at one (or all) of these classes:
- Sept. 29: Craft Cocktails 101
- Oct. 20: Cocktails of the Silver Screen
- Nov. 17: Craft Cocktails for the Holidays
Participants will be guided through the creation of each drink and provided with recipes, tips and techniques. You’ll also grab info on the best cocktail gear, how to create and organize your own home bar and how to mix up big batches of drinks for parties.

In addition to The New Cocktail Hour, the Darlingtons are also the authors of TCM‘s Movie Night Menus, where they pair classic cocktails with classic films. And their latest book, Booze & Vinyl, is devoted to rekindling record-listening parties and will be released in the spring of 2018.
You’ll walk into the class as a novice and walk out with some serious cocktail confidence. Each class starts at 7 p.m. and lasts 90 minutes. Tickets are $65 per person and can be purchased online.
