Bring Your Buddies to Exton for an Excellent Burger

Tucked away in the Main Street of Exton shopping center at 122 Woodcutter Street is one well-done burger store that will please any burger lover in your life. Buddy’s Burgers, Breasts and Fries was named “Best Burger” in the 2010 Chester County Choice Awards and the only thing that is ever frozen in their restaurant is the ice cream used for their fantastic milkshakes.

Owners Bob Hewczuk and Matt McFalls grew up in the area and their buddy owns Buddy Burgers in West Chester. Buddy’s Burgers in Exton opened its doors in May and the owners felt that Exton had a need for locally-owned burger joint that is quick, flavorful, and fresh. Bob is always researching the latest burger trends throughout the country to offer the best burgers for their customers. “We try to have good food that is homemade. We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We just try to use the best ingredients we can and that are affordable for people,” said Hewczuk.

These aren’t your average burgers, their signature burgers are delicious, juicy and creative. The Buddy comes with two patties and starts at $4.50 and the Little Buddy has one patty and starts at $3.30. Bite into one of their most popular burgers The Cajun (buddy with blackened seasoning, voodoo BBQ sauce, fried onions, lettuce, tomato and blue cheese spread) or The Amigote (buddy with fresh avocado, salsa, jalapenos and pepper jack cheese) and you certainly will be hooked. In case you want to create your own buddy, there are 23 toppings to choose from.

Buddy’s burgers are made from the freshest and local (whenever possible) ingredients and everything from their salad dressings to sauces are homemade. Their sweet potato fries are hand cut and their fried chicken is hand breaded. For those looking for a healthier option, they also have grilled chicken sandwiches and an array of wedge salads.
Not only is Buddy’s menu diverse but it won’t break the bank since every item is under $8. Buddy’s is very kid-friendly and a family of four could have a complete meal for under $30. In addition to their standard menu, they offer burgers and sides of the month. February’s special is a pizza burger with marinara sauce, basil, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and homemade tater tots.

During the week they offer great lunch specials (11am-3pm):

Monday – $2.25 Little Buddys, Bag of Buddys-10 for $20 (all day)

Tuesday – $1.00 dogs all day

Wednesday – $1.00 fresh cut fries

Thursday – $7.99 Chicken Sandwich combo with fries and a drink

Friday – $1.00 off any signature Buddy

Their hand dipped shakes are always available in vanilla, chocolate, black and white or strawberry. Their Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpet shake is their newest shake, immensely popular, and will be a regular feature on their menu. Every month, they offer a shake of the month and Red Velvet is the special for February.

Buddy’s spacious dining room is filled with Philadelphia’s sports memorabilia as well as local teams and is a perfect place to celebrate a post-game win. They try to get involved with the local community as often as possible and very open to working with local groups.

Ever watch “Man vs. Food” and think, “oh yeah, I can easily do that?” Well Buddy Burgers has the challenge for you (they have contacted the show to feature their challenge). All you have to do is eat 16 patties of beef, 16 slices of cheese and 8 strips of bacon all served on 2 buns with a large order of fries and a side of cheese sauce in under 25 minutes. So far 39 have attempted this feat, but The Enemy always prevails.

When a customer finishes this four pound meal they will get it for free (it’s a $25 value), a t-shirt, and the owners are going to have a banner made up with the person’s name, date, and their finish time to be hung up on the high rafters of their ceiling. For those of you who are up for the task, good luck and hopefully you have a nice bed to pass out on once the food coma kicks in.

Their winter hours are 11 am-8pm Sunday and Monday and from 11 am-9pm Tuesday-Saturday. Delivery is available throughout Lionville, Exton, and Downingtown, so call 610-363-5220 to place your order.
