On Saturday, June 18th from 6 to 9 pm the Mill at Anselma will host their fourth annual summer concert fundraiser, featuring live Zydeco music by Johnny Ace & Sidewalk Zydeco.
Zydeco is a high-energy style of music originating in southern Louisiana, and combines French dance melodies with Caribbean music and blues. No celebration of Louisiana music would be complete without mouthwatering Cajun food, and Zachary’s BBQ of Norristown will provide authentic Cajun cuisine. Desserts, wine and beer are also included in the ticket price.
Guests may also enjoy tours of the National Historic Landmark grist mill, the most authentic example of a mill of its kind in the country. Proceeds benefit the continuing preservation of the Mill at Anselma and its 22 acres of pristine landscape.
Tickets for Jambalaya Jam are $50 per person, and include the concert, dinner, dessert, wine and beer, and tours of the site. Space is limited, and reservations are required. To download an event invitation and RSVP card, please visit www.Anselmamill.org, or call (610) 827-1906.
Reservations may be made by mail, or by phone using a credit card. The Mill at Anselma is located on Route 401 (Conestoga Road), ½ mile west of Route 113 in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania.
About the Mill at Anselma
The Mill at Anselma (c. 1747) served its local agricultural community for three centuries and is considered the most complete example of a Colonial-era custom grist mill in the United States. Now restored and recognized as a National Historic Landmark, the Mill at Anselma provides a powerful educational resource, allowing visitors to experience Chester County’s industrial and agricultural past through flour milling demonstrations, tours of the site and hands-on family activities.
