Tredici Market in Wayne Cooks Up a New Location

Do you know that feeling you get when you find yourself belonging somewhere? It’s beyond comfort, and not quite as simple as contentment? That’s the feeling Tredici Italian Market in Wayne, PA provides. A business born out of passion and tradition. One with such a distinct identity, I would be hard pressed to find a market to compare it to.

Last month, Tredici Market owners Matt and Alana tiptoed around the corner from their tucked away Louella Court location to their new storefront, center stage on Lancaster Avenue. The married couple transplanted their vintage wood bookcases and modern metal racks into their new, more fitting space. They carry imported Italian goods, oils from throughout the Mediterranean, fresh pastas, as well as an abundance of prepared food items created in their kitchen throughout the day.

Stock up the pantry or pick up antipasto trays for a meeting, an oven ready meal for the family, or a sandwich to share with a friend. Tredici has a menu to impress, offering salads, wraps, and thirteen signature sandwiches. The hardest thing about lunch is making a choice form the divine and indulgent items on the menu. Customer favorites include hefty lump crab cakes and Pepe’s Porketta, a center cut pork loin stuffed with prosciutto, pancetta, fresh herbs, and melted provolone. The mouthwatering Porketta is an ode to Alana’s father Giuseppe.

For Alana, this isn’t a new venture. Her family has been in the business in Connecticut for over 45 years, serving their famous Porketta since day one. She credits her family’s experience as, “an invaluable asset in starting a business during a difficult economic time.” When customers peek in under that basil green awning, they will find Tredici is not just a market, it is a family, with years of experience in feeding folks the right way.

Tredici is a little gift to the community. It is an anchor keeping a piece of tradition in our streets, maintaining the beauty of small time neighborhood stores. Tredici Market truly just belongs here.
