Opening Today: Earl’s New American Combines Rustic Charm with Exceptional, Creative Cuisine

Earl’s New American, located in the picturesque setting of Peddler’s Village in Lahaska, will be opening to the public today, April 12. PA Eats was lucky enough to grab a sneak peek at this enticing eatery and sample what guests will be able to experience when the restaurant opens its doors.

Earl’s New American fits in perfectly at lovely Peddler’s Village, a shopping area that resembles a small village with unique shops and creative vendors. As did its predecessor, Earl’s Bucks County, the new restaurant offers a reinvented take on classic dishes, with a finished product you need to see to believe. Here are our top three reasons to make Earl’s New American your next dining destination:

Rustic Décor and Bucks County Charm

Earl's Bucks County Map

The interior design, characterized by repurposed wood furniture, creative lighting and an overall Bucks County vibe, is the work of Rebekah Brown of Bethany Design Co. in Valley Forge. Some of the focal points include eye-catching light fixtures, repurposed wood tables and an inviting fireplace in the center dining room. One of my favorite features is the nineteenth-century Bucks County map that spans the length of the wall in the intimate dining area to the right when you walk into the restaurant. If you are looking to host an event, the equally quaint second floor of the restaurant offers a banquet space that’s ideal for a wide array of events.

Culinary Flair and Creative Cocktails

Some of the delectable offerings created by Executive Chef Bill Murphy include she-crab bisque soup, sweet soy-kissed lobster dumplings, crab cakes and grilled salmon with faro and a morel mushroom vinaigrette. Chef Murphy told me will be using a pasta machine obtained in Italy to create house-made pasta, and I also discovered that he plans to use local food items from the Bucks County area whenever possible. Two of the local vendors he deals with when creating the restaurant’s exceptional menu include Castle Valley Mill and Mainly Mushrooms.

Earl's Tuna

In addition to the culinary items that impressed the crowd this past weekend, cocktail offerings had their time to shine as well. Guests sipped specialty cocktails throughout the event, including the Pear Tree and Ruby-Tini cocktails, which were both refreshing and perfect for spring, especially when the outdoor patio opens up in the warmer months. The wine options are also impressive, whether you prefer red, white or bubbly. Earl’s New American will also offer draught and bottled beer selections as well as non-alcoholic refresher coctkails.

Welcoming, Knowledgeable Staff

earls staffThe culinary and cocktail side is an extremely important component for any restaurant, but the front of the house has to be stellar, too. And, luckily for Earl’s New American, they have all of their bases covered. From the moment I entered the restaurant to the time I left, I felt welcomed by the staff, who was very knowledgeable about the food offerings, cocktails and even the interior of the restaurant and its unique décor. In addition, you could easily see that the team at Earl’s New American exhibited a cohesive vibe, which is pretty impressive seeing that the doors hadn’t even opened yet.

Bottom line: Earl’s New American boasts an inviting setting and exceptional front and back of the house staff and promises to be a culinary force to be reckoned with. Experience Earl’s New American for yourselves starting today, and be sure to visit the restaurant’s website and Facebook page for more information and special events (including upcoming wine dinners!).
