On Monday, March 20, over 400 supporters converged at Whitford Country Club to sample the best-of-the-best created by Chester County’s finest dessert chefs. The annual event, Sweet Charity, benefits the Chester County Community Foundation. Attendees mixed and mingled while tasting nine different desserts prepared by some of Chester County’s best dessert chefs.
Board chair Robert Rigg noted, “This event is such an incredible way to catch up with friends, while helping to raise awareness of how people can make strategic, lasting differences in their own communities, for now and forever. It was great to partner with such a like-minded host as Whitford Country Club.”
For Whitford Country Club, this event was a particularly special one to host. “With our community commitment in the Chester County Community Foundation, and the Whitford Charitable Fund being one of its funds, it was a great honor to assist in hosting the Sweet Charity Event this year. The excitement and yummy desserts presented by a great field of participants gave this year’s event a truly unique experience. A great time was achieved for a great cause!” says Thomas M. Czaus, general manager & COO of Whitford Country Club.
Check out all the delicious bites below:
Cakes & Candies by MaryEllen
Cakes & Candies by MaryEllen presented gâteries à la guimauve, otherwise known as Rice Krispie treats (made with Twix cereal). The trademark edible “sparkles” were festive and brought a little spring to the party.
Carlino’s Specialty Foods
The Dowager Countess would have approved of this beautifully constructed, almond-inspired twist on a French macaron topped with fluffy white chocolate amaretto mousse.
Delightful Desserts & Culinary Creations
Delightful Desserts & Culinary Creations’ lemon-lavender rice pudding parfait was a beautiful display that drew you in with the scent of lavender. It enhanced the experience of biting into the slightly tangy lemon-lavender creamy parfait.
Gemelli Artisanal Gelato & Dessert Café
Gemelli offered a tiramisu gelato bite—a tender cookie was a fitting base for freshly scooped tiramisu gelato drizzled with chocolate.
General Warren Inne
This praline pecan cheesecake was impeccably constructed with layers of creamy cheesecake and crunchy pecans—just-right sweet!
Milito’s Restaurant

New Street Catering
Guests enjoyed these chocolate mint fusion shooters and Mudslide pudding shooters that were dessert versions of favorite cocktails in milk or dark chocolate cups.
John Serock Catering
Freshly made before your eyes and warm, this “tortellini” was a dreamy combo of chocolate plus hazelnut kissed with a light strawberry cream sauce. Yes, the tortellini were real noodles with some cocoa powder substituted in for flour!
Whitford Country Club
A crunchy butterfly-shaped cookie (not too sweet!) topped a nontraditional take on luscious strawberries and cream.
