Now Open for Lunch: Brandywine Branch Distillers

Artisanal craft distiller Brandywine Branch Distillers is now open for lunch!

That’s right—in addition to grain-to-table, small-batch bourbon and revivalist gin, spirits enthusiasts can now dine at the distillery’s bistro in the afternoon instead of evening only. Now you can take a break from your busy day and enjoy a scrumptious, satisfying meal composed of fresh produce, free-range meats and local artisan cheeses—and, of course, a fully stocked bar!

Just like the evening Bistro dinner menu, the lunch menu will be rotating regularly, but be on the lookout for small plates like maple pulled pork sliders, smoked trout dip, creamy penne and cheese and aged New York steak strip. Craving lighter fare? Go for the weekly soup offering, baby lettuce Caesar salad or the chef’s snack, which consists of roasted garlic, aged balsamic vinegar, Maldon salt, extra virgin olive oil, Hummingbird cheese from The Farm at Doe Run and a fresh baguette.

Don’t forget to check out Brandywine Branch Distillers’ creative cocktail list as you chow down. In the spirit of summer coming to a close, sip on a Summertime, made of the distillery’s revivalist specialty gin, tonic, fresh-squeezed lime wedges, cucumber stir and a optional honeysuckle garnish. Or go glam with the Summertime Cosmo, which consists of fresh guava juice, virgin Cointreau and just a splash of lime juice. Yearning for some fall flavors? Try the Autumn Apple SpiceUp, with the distillery’s harvest gin, fresh apple cider and ginger beer. If you’re in more of a bourbon mood, go for the soda-like Bourbon Cooler, with Brandywine’s custom cask bourbon, club soda and simple vanilla syrup over ice and garnished with a cinnamon stick.

Enjoy your food and drink inside the bistro, where cozy tables and a stonewalled bar give this eatery just the right amount of rustic charm. Or take advantage of beautiful weather and sit outdoors and enjoy the picturesque view of the rolling hills near the distillery. You can even pick a sprig of mint or basil straight from the chef’s garden to top your plate or glass!

Please note that in keeping in line with the bistro’s dinner accommodations, there is not a children’s menu or special seating for children at lunch.

The bistro will be open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m.‒2:30 p.m. and does take reservations. For additional information, check out the distillery’s Facebook page or website, or call (610) 901-3668 to make reservations.
