Today is National Rum Day, and what better way to celebrate this libation holiday than by enjoying refreshing rum-laden cocktails with Bluebird Distilling?
Guests celebrating this spirit-filled day at the distillery in Phoenixville will enjoy complimentary samples of both Bluebird Distilling’s Sugarcane Rum and Dark Rum in Bluebird’s tasting room. Additionally, rum lovers will enjoy $5 Mojitos and Dark & Stormy cocktails, created by Bluebird’s accomplished bar team.
Sippers wishing to purchase a bottle of Bluebird Sugarcane Rum can visit any one of Pennsylvania’s Fine Wine & Good Spirit Stores, as well as Bluebird’s shop and tasting room at The Shops at Liberty Place in Center City, and enjoy $4 off the spirit throughout the month of August.
Bluebird Distilling will also be pouring free samples of its Sugarcane and Dark rums today at their retail store at Shops at Liberty Place.
“We wanted to say cheers to National Rum Day and highlight one of the awesome craft spirits we make right here in Phoenixville,” said master distiller and Bluebird founder Jared Adkins.
For those seeking an outdoor rum-themed party today in Philadelphia, head to Square 1682 from 5–9 p.m. for The Summertime Chill Zone featuring Bluebird rum-infused dishes, such as rum-preserved peaches with ricotta on grilled country bread and roasted beets with sour apple, pistachio and rum sabayon (both items available for $8 each).
Lead bartender Daniel Kulisek will be serving up $8 Bluebird Distilling rum cocktails, such as traditional mojitos, Light and Stormys and a Comfortably Numb offering, which is made with Bluebird Sugarcane Rum, coconut rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, Demerara syrup and garnished with grated nutmeg—a unique take on the classic penicillin cocktail.
Other fun at Square 1682’s Chill Zone includes icy-cold wading pools, street-side sipping on lounge chairs and lawn furniture, cornhole and Kulisek, the Singing and Slinging bartender, who curates a “yacht-rock” playlist and sings to the crowd when the mood moves him. For the beer lovers, 2SP Brewing Company cans of brew will be sure to please.
