The relatively new TradeWinds BYOB is adding an even greater Hawaiian spin to its offerings by introducing a Wednesday night “pau hana” (a Hawaiian phrase meaning “the time after work”) special, featuring delectable poké dishes and complimentary cans of Hawaiian craft beers.
On Wednesday nights, the 21+ crowd will be able to enjoy TradeWinds’ authentic island-style poké sampler for $12 and poké bowls for $15, featuring fresh fish, steamed rice, local sprouts, vegetables and the restaurant’s signature sauces, along with a free beer from craft breweries HQ’d in Hawaii.
Poké is a raw fish salad served as an appetizer in Hawaiian cuisine. The fish is served raw on top of a marinated salad using only the freshest fish or seafood mixed with seasonings such as sesame seeds, soy sauce, green onion, garlic, kimchi, chili peppers and Hawaiian sea salt.

“We love that poké has hit the mainland and that people are excited to experience one of our favorite Hawaiian culinary traditions,” said chef and co-owner Leslie Frankel-Avila. “We want our guests to try the poké we personally enjoy when we are home in Maui. Our poké is ‘local style’ and what you will find at a local poké counter, beach BBQ or family luau in Hawaii, so you’re getting something very authentic when you dine at TradeWinds BYOB. It’s not our take—it’s the real thing! We want Philly to fall in love with the unique, fantastic flavors of true island poké and the vibe of the good times it naturally brings to any gathering.”
The complimentary Hawaiian craft beers, which Leslie and husband and co-owner James Avila personally adore, will rotate seasonally, as will Leslie’s poké offerings.
Spend your Wednesday evenings exploring the poké offerings of TradeWinds BYOB and enjoying a complimentary craft beer and add a bit of Hawaiian flair to your week!
