James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Event with Special Guest Chef Marc Murphy Returns to Philly (Oct. 13)

The incomparable culinary organization the James Beard Foundation will be bringing its Taste America event back to the City of Brotherly Love on Friday, October 13, with special guest chef Marc Murphy in attendance.

The food festivities will unfold at the Museum of the American Revolution starting at 6 p.m. for general admission guests and 5 p.m. for VIP ticketholders. Throughout the evening, Taste America attendees will enjoy a cocktail and tasting reception and a seated dinner, with the opportunity to attend an after-party at Aqimero at the Ritz-Carlton.

Co-chairs Audrey Claire Taichman, Hope Cohen and Stephen Starr invite you to indulge in a dinner menu created by chefs Marc Murphy of Benchmarc Restaurants, Greg Vernick of Vernick Food & Drink, Pat O’Malley of Hungry Pigeon and Jean-Marie Lacroix of Brûlée Catering. The tasting reception will be a collaborative effort of chefs Scott Anderson of Mistral and Elements, Camille Cogswell of Zahav, Nicholas Elmi of Laurel, Nate Horwitz of Morimoto and Richard Landau of Vedge Restaurant Group.

For those attending the VIP portion of the event, chef Guillermo Pernot of Cuba Libre will be preparing those delicacies, and restaurateur Richard Sandoval will be hosting the after-party offerings at Aqimero.

Tickets are now on sale for $300 for general admission guests, $450 for VIP attendees and $50 for access to the after-party. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Scholarship Fund.
