The Philly Wine Community Organizes to Support California Wildfire Relief

Winemakers & Sommeliers for California Wildfire Relief

The organizers of Philly Wine Week and the Winemakers & Sommeliers for California Wildfire Relief (WSCWR) are joining forces to help those affected by the widespread devastating fires throughout the Napa, Sonoma and Mendocino regions. The two following fundraising events will be held in Philadelphia to lend a hand to fellow winemakers in California.

WSCWR Fundraising Benefit at Drexel University Academic Bistro (Nov. 8)

WSCWR will be hosting a benefit on Wednesday, November 8, in conjunction with Philly Wine Week and Drexel University to raise funds for CA Wine Strong, Redwood Credit Union North Bay Fire Relief and Napa Valley Community Foundation.

Patrick Cappiello of Walnut Street Café and a few of his esteemed wine friends, including Pax Mahle and Sara Morgenstern, created WSCWR to raise funds for the wildfire disaster and are hosting these events across the country. And with Philly Wine Week and Drexel University’s help, they’re able to bring one such event to Philadelphia.

The fundraiser will be hosted at Drexel’s Academic Bistro from 6–9 p.m., where guests will enjoy a selection of California wines, light bites from local chefs and casual conversation with Patrick and other wine pros and aficionados.

Tickets are $50 per person, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the foundations listed above.
