Sarah’s Snacks, formerly Nuts About Granola, has a new home for its retail store at 9 West Philadelphia Street in downtown York.
The new location previously housed the kitchen and production area for Sarah’s Snacks, and will continue to do so, along with the added retail location.
Inside the store, customers will find a small market offering Sarah’s Snacks’ products, as well grab-and-go drinks, locally made artisan foods and ice cream.
The move is just the latest development for an entrepreneurial success story. What started in 2009 as a college project for Sarah Lanphier has grown into a successful business for her and her mother Gayle, a registered dietician and Sarah’s business partner.
Sarah’s Snacks and Downtown Inc will celebrate the business’ grand re-opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, set for 4 p.m. on Friday, July 6, at the new location. Both media and the public are invited to attend. During the celebration, the shop will offer a special 10-percent-off sale on bulk items and will give away Sarah’s Snacks mugs to the first 20 customers who spend $20 at the new location.
“We’re eager to show off our new retail location during First Friday. We invite everyone to visit while enjoying everything Downtown York offers,” said Sarah Lanphier, CEO of Sarah’s Snacks. “Though we’re moving our operations into one space, customers will still find their favorite granola products on the same block as before and within walking distance of Central Market. While we may be in a new location, not much will change.”
The store will be open during Market Days, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturdays. Sarah’s Snacks will also offer extended hours during First Fridays, opening from 10 a.m.–9 p.m.
