Nourish PA for Kids: Overnight Oats Jars

Streamline those busy weekday mornings with one less thing to do. These overnight oats allow kids to build a custom breakfast with simple ingredients that meld overnight into a delicious, healthy and filling morning breakfast.

Kids combine oats, milk and a natural sweetener in resealable containers for a batch of four grab-and-go breakfasts. They’re customizable with nuts, seeds, nut butter and/or berries for a wholesome and satisfying kickstart to the day!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups quick oats or old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups whole milk, or non-dairy milk
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen berries, optional, for topping
  • 1/4 cup nut butter, like peanut, almond, or sunflower, optional, for topping
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or seeds, optional, for topping

Method

  1. Combine the oats, milk, honey, vanilla and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Divide the mixture evenly among 4 resealable jars or containers.
  3. Seal jars and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight.
  4. Open jars and add toppings, like berries, nut butter, chopped nuts or seeds, to each jar, as desired. Serve cold, or warm in the microwave.
