PA Preferred® In the Kitchen: Chutney Dip and Cheese Board

Liza Naylor, owner of PA Preferred® Locally Seasoned shows us amazing ways to use chutney. This tangy, tart and sweet spread goes well in all kinds of dishes, from savory dips and appetizers to entrees and dessert. Chutney is made with vegetables and fruits and lots of delicious spices and seasonings.

Naylor walks us through a simple ricotta and tomato apple chutney dip, which you can whip up in a snap for an elevated snack or crowd-pleasing party dish. Naylor also builds a PA Preferred cheese board with sweet-tart pawpaw chutney, hand cut pickled pink onions, garlic scapes and fresh fruit along with a goat cheese, nutty manchego and ultra sharp cheddar. The chutney contrasts with the various ingredients, cutting and balancing the fat of the cheeses and mellowing out the sharp, salty bite of the pickled vegetables.

Locally Seasoned, located in York County, offers gourmet chutneys and pickled garnishes in addition to cooking classes for heritage, plant-based and nutritious, mindful eating. New Freedom; (717) 676-5401.
