New Italian BYOB Debuts in Glenside — da Ludovica

Ludovica1Chris Molitor, previously the chef at Trinacria in Blue Bell and a 25-year restaurant veteran, is now running the kitchen at Felice Saldutti’s newest venture. da Ludovica, which opened January 10, is a fresh addition to the Glenside BYOB dining scene and promises authentic, flavorful cuisine with each visit.

While art was Saldutti’s initial calling, it was only a matter of time before his family-taught cooking lessons and time spent in Italy grew into something he wanted to share with the public. His passion for homemade cuisine, made to order meals and hearty cooking, now shines through the menu at da Ludovica. After meeting through a mutual friend, Chef Molitor—who’s experience comes largely from a sous chef position under Giacomo Georgi and family-influence—won Saldutti over with just a few bites of ravioli.

Want to be swooned at the dinner table like that? Then consider paying the new Glenside dining spot a visit. Molitor’s appetizers include polenta cake with shrimp in a white wine sauce, grilled vegetables topped with mozzarella and pesto, and plum tomatoes (fresh from Italy) filled with goat cheese and topped with pesto. The pasta is made fresh daily by Emilia, Saldutti’s wife. Entrees include chicken, veal, steak and fish dishes. Prices range from about $10 for appetizers to $16 for pasta dishes to $19 to $23 for chicken and veal entrees and $26 to $32 for seafood and steak entrees.

Da Ludovica is located at 15 Limekiln Pike, about a mile north of Arcadia University. For more information, call 215-886-1715.
