Looking to score major points with your madre this Mother’s Day? Consider snagging seats at Mica (8609 Germantown Avenue) for your Mother’s Day feast! We’d expect that the talented Chef Chip Roman would pull out all the stops to woo locals during their celebrations focused in on moms–but, with one look at the menu, he has far surpassed our expectations (and hey–they were high!).
On Sunday, May 12, guests will be able to enjoy three courses for $45 per person, with seatings available from 10:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. An optional beverage pairing will be available for diners, as well.
Entice your mom pre-dinner with sweet menu teases, like Pork Cheeks with English peas and ramps, Lancaster County Poulard with sour cherry and fingerling potatoes, and Crème Caramel with blackberry, elderflower and key lime. Then, following her taking her seat at the table, she will fawn even further over appealing dishes like the following:
- First course dishes: White Gazpacho with sourdough, grapes and basil; Asparagus Salad with blue crab and truffle vinaigrette; Cape May Fluke Crudo with horseradish, celery, orange and grapefruit; and Spring Greens with a cucumber raspberry vinaigrette.
- Second course dishes: Barnegat, NJ Scallops with beluga lentils, radish and lemongrass; Loch Duart Salmon with cauliflower, raisin, grapes and banyuls
- Dessert dishes: Raspberry Semifreddo with strawberry, yuzu and kiwi; Manjari Chocolate with candied peanut, sour cream and orange; and a Cheese Selection of fourme d’ ambert, prima donna and taleggio.
Mica is Chef Chip’s second restaurant (the first Conshy’s Blackfish), which offers a daily changing a la carte menu, exquisite tasting menus, creative cocktails and a thoughtfully crafted wine list. The restaurant opened in March 2011 to immediate critical acclaim, and has remained in the spotlight in 2012, being named by GQ magazine as one of the “10 Best New Restaurants 2012.”
