If you’re looking to celebrate the Day of the Dead with spirits (the cocktail kind), Sauza Tequila has created some festive drink recipes to help you pull off the perfect Dia de los Muertos bash.
Moonlit Margarita
1½ parts Sauza Signature Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
4 parts sparkling blackberry soda
¼ cup fresh blackberries
¾ parts fresh lime juice
¼ parts simple syrup
Ice
Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Blackberries for garnish (optional)
Preparation: Place 2–3 whole blackberries in a glass. In a blender, puree the rest of the fresh blackberries with lime juice and simple syrup. Strain into a cocktail shaker, add the tequila and ice and shake to chill. Fill ⅓ of the glass with the blackberry-lime-tequila mixture and top with chilled blackberry soda. Garnish the glass with fresh mint and blackberries (optional).
Marigold Margarita
1 part Sauza Gold Tequila
½ parts DeKuyper Triple Sec Liqueur
2 parts orange juice
2 parts lime juice
2 parts agave nectar
Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Yellow chili pepper for garnish (optional)
Preparation: Add all ingredients to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain over ice into glass. Garnish with fresh basil and slices of yellow chili pepper (optional).
Sugar Skull Margarita
1½ parts Sauza Signature Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1½ parts frozen limeade
3 parts fruit punch soda
Dragon fruit slice for garnish (optional)
Preparation: Combine tequila, limeade, and fruit punch soda in a cocktail shaker. Shake well. Garnish with a dragon fruit slice (optional).
Catrina’s Classic Margarita
1½ parts Sauza Signature Blue Silver 100% Agave Tequila
1 part lime juice
½ parts DeKuyper Triple Sec Liqueur
½ parts simple syrup
Lime wheel for garnish (optional)
Salt for the rim (optional)
Preparation: Add ingredients to an ice-filled shaker. Shake and strain over ice into a margarita glass. Garnish the glass with a lime wheel and salt on the rim (optional).
