Stella Rossa Ristorante, a 7,000-square-foot, 350-seat Italian bistro, is officially set to open at 20 East Lancaster Avenue on Sunday, August 4! The restaurant will feature a 225-seat dining room, 50-seat al fresco patio overlooking the Brandywine River, expansive bar and private dining room for up to 50 guests. Lunch service will start on Monday, August 12; brunch will commence on Sunday, August 11.
The restaurant is the latest venture for Philadelphia-based restaurateur Dave Magrogan. “At Stella Rossa, guests will experience the art of Italian dining,” said Magrogan. Modern and traditional dishes will be prepared with fresh local fresh ingredients. An artisan cheese, charcuterie and olive program will be sourced by Philadelphia’s beloved Di Bruno Brothers, and the bar will feature an extensive collection of Italian wines, international craft beers and specialty cocktails. Stella Rossa will tap into the network of farmers, fishermen and artisan purveyors that Magrogan has cultivated since opening his farm-to-table Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in Glen Mills, Pa., in May 2010. “By working with local farmers, Stella Rossa will utilize the freshest products available,” said Magrogan. “Guests will enjoy a true Italian experience featuring inventive pasta dishes, house made mozzarella, innovative salads and seasonally changing wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, entrees and appetizers.”
In addition to opening Stella Rossa, Magrogan will be opening his third Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in The Shoppes at English Village, located at 1460 Bethlehem Pike in North Wales, on August 11. Magrogan has tapped 2008 James Beard Award nominee Mike Adams as Executive Chef for the 220-seat restaurant and bar. Mike was Executive Chef at The Farmhouse in Emmaus, Pa., when he was nominated for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic in 2008.
