Interior, Exterior Previews of Avalon Pasta Bistro, Coming Soon to Downingtown

Chef/owner John Brandt-Lee of the coming-soon Avalon Pasta Bistro recently revealed some further enhancements to his future East Lancaster Avenue spot including an impressive artisan cheese table and attractive outdoor seating.

Avalon Pasta Bistro, with an expected opening date of late June, will offer the Downingtown area an energetic, upbeat eatery that concentrates on homemade pastas, flatbreads, salads, an impressive selection of artisan cheeses, and a 15-plus antipasto platter.

While you’ve heard us detail you on the progression of his future Downingtown space (his first is in West Chester, on South High Street), including revealing scenes of its renovations, how you could be a part of the bistro via his Kickstarter (over $12,000 was pledged) and his preview of the Pasta Bistro’s menu, now we offer you a peek of his in-progress dining room.

Brandt-Lee has had a custom-made, multi-level cheese table (seen to the above right) constructed that will allow diners to peek at a wide display of artisan cheeses throughout their meals. The various levels of the table, as well as the above shelves, will all display the eatery’s cheese inventory. There is also a working fireplace on the wall opposite of the cheese table, and the entire dining room boasts an attractive butternut rum/Tuscan orange throughout.

For the exterior, Chef John has used old Chester County boulders, rather than fencing to separate outdoor dining patio, which is fitting since Downingtown’s quarry is just behind the restaurant.

Stay tuned for even more developments on Downingtown’s newest restaurant, coming soon to 78 E. Lancaster Avenue.
