Congratulations are in order for The Desmond Hotel’s Michael Chain, who was recently included on the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 list.
This accolade embraces what we already know to be true—Chain is doing impressive work in the hotel industry and the future is certain to keep getting brighter. Chain, 38 years old, is general manager of The Desmond Hotel and has grown up in the hotel industry. His father, Michael Chain Sr., was general manager of The Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York, and later went on to open the Malvern location.
One of Chain’s accomplishments was guiding The Desmond through extensive renovations in 2008, and doing so via a cost savings plan that reduced fixed and variable costs by $2.5 million. Some other wonderful achievements include increasing the revenue of the hotel over the years, providing steady employment for those who work at The Desmond and more.
