Celebrate Midsummer with a Swedish Smorgasbord at IKEA Conshohocken, June 14

IKEA Conshohocken invites the public to its Friday, June 14, Midsummer Smorgasbord!

Midsummer, an important holiday steeped in tradition in Sweden, marks the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. Join in the fun as IKEA captures the essence of this Swedish summer holiday with a Midsummer buffet table, featuring a meal of herring, hard boiled eggs, assorted salads, meatballs with lingonberries and much more. “Our Swedish roots are an important part of the IKEA story,” said Donna Fitzgerald, IKEA Food Commercial Manager. “Events such as Midsummer allow us to share our Swedish culture and heritage with our guests and to hopefully start a new tradition with our fans.”

The IKEA Midsummer Smörgåsbord menu at IKEA Conshohocken includes:

Assorted Varieties of Herring 

Whole Poached Salmon 

Crayfish 

Tossed green Salad, Cucumber Salad, Rhode Island Salad and Summer Salad 

Assorted Swedish Cheeses 

Boiled Dill Potatoes

Meatballs with Lingonberries 

Hard-boiled Eggs with Shrimp 

Smoked Salmon with Horseradish Sauce 

Swedish Ham

Prinskorv Sausage

Strawberries and Whipped Crème, Ice Cream and Assorted Desserts

A kids’ craft will also be part of the event, and guests will have chance to win a basket of delicious food from IDEA’s Swedish Food Market!

Seatings for the Midsummer Smorgasbord are from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the IKEA Restaurant. IKEA Family Member price is $9.99 for adults, $2.49 for children 12 & under. The non-member price is $12.99 for adults, $4.99 for children 12 & under. Not an IKEA Family Member? No problem! Sign up for free at a kiosk in the store or online.

Please note: The IKEA Restaurant will close at 2:00 p.m. on June 14 to prepare for this special event. The Swedish Food Market and Bistro will be open and available all day.
