Things are heating up in preparation for the 11th Annual Chili Cookoff, put on by the Rotary Club of West Chester and scheduled for Sunday, October 13!
The Cookoff, which raises money for the Rotary’s mission of “Service Above Self,” is a terrific day for all who participate and attend. Last year’s Cookoff garnered over $32,000 for local charities! Check out PA Eats’s recap of last year’s event here, and see photos from the day here.
Who’ll be participating in the annual throwdown? The list is impressive, to say the least. Restaurants, businesses, nonprofits and hometown groups will all be vying for bragging rights. The competition is fierce, which means that you better come ready for a feast. The day will also include a host of non-chili vendors (see that list here), in addition to the Wells Fargo Family Fun Center and music by the Manny Trio.
Gates and ticket booths open at 10:30 a.m.; all chili will be released to the public at noon. Awards will be given at 3:30 p.m. This a rain or shine event! (Please note: No pets or alcohol allowed.)
There are still two ways to get your wristbands for the day’s festivities (remember, kids 10 & under are free with a paid adult):
- Discounted presale wristbands: Five locations in West Chester will be selling advance tickets at a discounted rate of 3/$25. These tickets must be purchased in person. Click here for locations!
- Day-of tickets: Buy wristbands ($10) on the day of the cookoff at one of the four sales booths, which will open at 10:30am. Booths will be located at the corners of Gay & New, Gay & Darlington, Gay & Church and Gay & High streets.
Find parking information and directions here. For more info on the Cookoff, send an email to event organizers, or call them at (610) 322-7213.
