The Moment You’ve Been Waiting For: Wine in PA Grocery Stores Is Finally Here!

Wine RackA huge round of applause broke out when grocery stores in Pennsylvania started selling beer—now wine lovers can also get in on the action.

We told you it was coming earlier this summer, but as of yesterday Act 39 approved at least 84 applications for an expanded license to allow wine sales. This new law means that when you are picking up groceries for that special dinner you’re cooking, no longer will you have to make a separate trip to the state store to grab a bottle of your favorite vino. That’s one-stop shopping we can really get behind!

Among the local spots that have been approved so far are:

  • Philadelphia’s Port Richmond Thriftway at 2497 Aramingo Avenue
  • Coatesville’s 2017 D&J Enterprises at 729 E. Lincoln Highway
  • Wayne’s Acme Markets at 700 W. Lancaster Avenue
  • Exton’s Giant Food Store at 141 East Swedesford Road
  • Glen Mills’ Acme Markets at 101 Byers Drive
  • Media’s Acme Markets at 1067 West Baltimore Pike

See an interactive map of all locations statewide on the website of Governor Tom Wolf.

In other exciting news, Act 39 also makes it legal for Pennsylvania residents to buy wine online and have it sent right to their door.

We’d say wine lovers in Pennsylvania are having a pretty good day right now, don’t you think?
