Pennsylvania is a dairy heavyweight, ranking 10th nationally for milk production and home to approximately 5,000 dairy farms, many of them family owned. Naturally, this fuels a robust ice cream industry, with countless creameries, ice cream shops, gelaterias and parlors dotting the state.

All of the 51 stops on Scooped: An Ice Cream Trail are PA Preferred®, which means that 75% or more of the ingredients are grown or produced in Pennsylvania. It’s a guaranteed way to enjoy a scrumptious scoop or two of your favorite flavors and savor the farm-fresh difference!
“Pennsylvania ice cream is the sweetest you’ll find anywhere,” said PA Secretary of Agriculture, Russel Redding at the launch of the Scooped trail. “Meeting a farm family, seeing where they work their magic, and trying fresh-made local ice cream makes summer even sweeter when you know your purchases help support Pennsylvania farms and keep our economy thriving.”
