This Saturday: BBQ Throwdown at French Quarter Bistro

Are you attending the BBQ throwdown at French Quarter Bistro?  This special event will be held on Saturday, August 28 at 5 p.m.  Following the hugely successful Jambalaya throwdown earlier this year, LePan Catering and French Quarter Bistro have decided to battle it out again, this time over BBQ!  Both the French Quarter Bistro and LePan Catering will each serve their version of a pulled pork, a BBQ side dish and an appetizer. This event will be reminiscent of The Travel Channel’s “Food Wars”, where two teams battle over one dish to see who’s capable of doing it the best, as selected by three food-savvy judges (two of whom will be Phoenixville Dish’s own local foodies Amy Strauss and Laura Taylor).  Attendees get to play a part in the judging, too.  Ballots will be handed out to all guests: the crowd gets to seal the deal of who has the best barbecue in town!  Local Spring City band, “So Close to Sober” will perform live during the event.  The evening will also feature great giveaways (including passes to Limerick Bowl valued at $100, sessions from Great Valley Adventure Boot Camp, a movie package for four for Regal Cinemas in Oaks, a makeover from Alura Salon & Spa which includes half hour massage, manicure, haircut valued at over $150, Cigar package from Goose’s Tobacco Outlet & Lounge) not to mention delicious drink specials.  The last throwdown was notorious for promoting an up-for-bids smoker grill and a huge cash prize.  Want in on the action?  Tickets for the event are $13 in advance, or $15 at the door.   To get there, head to: 215 Main Street, Royersford, PA 19468.
