When looking for new fun ways to help raise funds for the Southeast PA division of the March of Dimes, locals Andrea DiPietro and Lindsay Schaub became inspired by a local comedian in Harrisburg that hosted the “Laughs for Aubrey” event.
Ryan Cowell and his wife lost their daughter Aubrey when she was 8 months pregnant. Needless to say returning to work was extremely trying for Cowell, however he managed to stay positive and created the “Laughs for Aubrey” benefit to raise money for the March of Dimes. The daring fundraising duo decided to team up with Cowell and his wife to host another “Laughs for Aubrey” stand up comedy event on Friday, December 3rd at the new Twenty9 Bar & Restaurant (formerly Flanigan’s Boathouse in Malvern).
Cowell has had such outstanding support from his comedians, the upcoming event also booked the National Headliner Derrick Tennant from Atlanta, GA. Tennant, along with a couple other comedians from across the tri-state area have agreed to donate their time, and the expense of traveling to Pennsylvania to help raise as much money as they can.
It’s not too late to grab tickets for this Friday’s benefit. To purchase your own or for more information, click here. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Twenty9 is located at 16 Great Valley Parkway in Malvern and can be found on Facebook by clicking here.
