Local Chef advances in the Sears Chef Challenge

Congratulations to Chef Steph Krzywanski of Phoenixville, who has been competing to advance in the national Sears Chef Challenge.  For those who haven’t been following along, the Sears Chef Challenge is a nationwide contest.  Aspiring chefs submitted a personal video entry for a chance to win a newly-renovated kitchen from Sears and up to $20,000 donated in their name to a charity.   Chef Steph’s chosen charity is Camphill Village Kimberton Hills (http://www.camphillkimberton.org/).  Votes were tallied and the announcement went out today: Chef Steph will be heading to Chicago to advance to the semi-finals of the competition.  Watch the semi-finals live on the web on July 31st at 7pm.  They’ll be streaming live video from Chicago’s Kenmore Studio.  Weighing in will be a panel of expert and celebrity judges commenting on the chefs culinary skills.

Celebrations are in order for Chef Steph and the other advancing chefs.  Her sentiments via her Facebook page: “Whoo-Hoo! WE DID IT! With all of your help, I am advancing to the semi-finals of the Sears Chef Challenge! Thank you EVERYONE for putting up with the constant reminders and for voting each and every day. I am so thrilled to have won $5K for Camphill Village Kimberton Hills, they are so deserving of this prize. Thanks again, Everyone! Congrats to Chefs Palak, Riq and Mark – I’ll see you in Chicago!!!”
