Did you know that as of April 30, 2010, Chester County has preserved almost 27,000 acres of farmland, ranking us fourth in the nation for total number of acres preserved? Learn all about Chester County’s commitment to agriculture by downloading (or picking up) a free guide to local food sources. The guide includes a list of farm stands, farm stores, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) operations, farmers’ markets, specialty producers, and retail outlets. You can also access value-added products, agritourism experiences, cooperative connections, suppliers, restaurants and everything local in-between throughout Chester County. The local food guide even provides a list of local specialty producers (such as cheese, wine, mushrooms and trees). In addition, you’ll find a complete harvest calendar, indicating all the fruits and vegetables grown in Chester County as well as when you can find them in-season.
