During the Phillies play-offs, Avalon Pasta Bistro is offering an early 3-course prix fixe designed for fans racing home to watch the games. The discounted, 3-course meal may also appeal to families, retirees and others who enjoy a great deal at an earlier hour. The 3-course prix fixe will be available for $19.80 on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Each diner will choose one antipasti, pasta and dessert from a list of 7 items on the antipasti list, eight entrees and three desserts. The pasta options include the following:
- Ricotta Gnocchi, Leeks, Mushroom, Lemon Creme
- Crab Ravioli, Tomato Jam, Mussels Red; and Torn Pasta Fagioli, Chicken, White Beans, Lemon Butter
- Pumpkin D’ Ravioli, Sage Brown Butter, Ameritti Cookie Crumb
Avalon Pasta Bistro’s menu focuses on homemade pastas, flatbreads, salads, a sophisticated cheese program and a 15-item antipasti platter. Small portions are served family-style to promote social interaction while giving everyone the opportunity to try many dishes. Each plate is six to eight bites. Through a special partnership with Downingtown-based Victory Brewing, the restaurant has two taps and gives two complimentary pints of Victory beer or glasses of sangria to every adult.
The menu features smaller, European-sized portions of homemade pastas, such as Fettuccini, Truffled Mascarpone, Roasted Red Pepper, Sausage; Veal Cheek Mezza Luna, Mushroom, Red Wine Demi; and Orecchiette Red Sauce, Baby Meatballs.
While the early prix fixe with 3 courses is available on Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for $19.80, at other times the restaurant offers a 4-course prix fixe for $35, including choice of one pasta dish and three other items (flatbread, antipasti). Each person receives four shareable small plates.
