Get Ready to Nosh Your Way Through West Chester!

West Chester is a town filled with character, history and endless amounts of great dining and drinking spots. With so many delicious options, sometimes making plans can get complicated…until now.

Ready to Nosh has put together a two-hour walking tour of West Chester featuring some of the best places to grab a glass or two. Their Fermentation Food Tour will be released in West Chester on June 30th with tours leaving from 300 Gay Street.

Ready to Nosh’s Culinary Tasting Adventures are not just about delicious food and beverages – although those are nice perks – they also include an array of historical and architectural facts, local culture, humor and culinary insight.  In a two-day LivingSocial blitz, 1,400 hungry noshers purchased tickets for Philly and West Chester food tours and Ready to Nosh is already receiving rave reviews of Tripadvisor. “What we essentially do is provide walking culinary experiences,” said co-owner JJ Diaz. “Our tours are geared towards adventurous eaters who don’t mind eating with complete strangers. Part of the tour includes a historical aspect, but that is not the main focus of it, we are about good food and beverages.”

This is the first tour that takes place in the ‘burbs and Ready to Nosh was drawn to the huge amount of history and great culinary destinations in West Chester. They currently offer food tours of the best restaurants, wine bars and food trucks in Georgetown and DC, with plans to expand in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, NYC, NJ, Buffalo and Boston next year.

These intimate tours are led by knowledgeable guides and are capped at 12 people, which allows you to make new friends during these edible excursions.

The Fermentation Tour is uncorked with a full tasting at Kreutz Creek Winery’s tasting room, on the corner of Gay Street and Walnut Street. Whether you crave a sweet Reisling, a smoky red Kordeaux or a port with a flavorful finish, Kreutz Creek owner, Carole Kikpatrick, happily walks you through their award-winning wines for this tasting.

What is a perfect pairing to compliment Kreutz Creek’s impeccable wines? A tray of four gourmet cheeses from the oldest cheese shop in New York City, Murray’s Cheese. There is nothing cheesy about Murray’s, it is considered the mecca of cheeses and they tout a rating of 29 points out of 30 from Zagat.

The next stop on the tour is Iron Hill Brewery, whose company has been pouring award-winning beers since 1994. These hand-crafted beers are made on site and travel no further than 65 feet from where they were created to your glass. Before you explore their tasty beers, visitors get a sneak peek and tour of the brewery. A tasting of their seasonal beers will give you one more reason to love summer.

The last leg of the tour ends as most nights or drinking sessions should – with tequila! Admire the view from Mas’ rooftop bar as you learn all about tequila and sip on the best margaritas in town. The tour ends with a sweet finish, but you will only learn this surprise location at the conclusion of your excursion!

The tour is not just for out of town visitors, but is perfect for residents looking to discover more about West Chester. “I am from West Chester and this was a way of experiencing West Chester in a way you have never done before,” said tour attendee, Jenn Adams. “I had never tried all the wines at Kreutz Creek Winery, most of the beers at Iron Hill or shots at Mas.”

Please note: since the tour will be visiting some fantastic food destinations in town, itinerary may change due to the popularity of the restaurants. Tours run from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays (with some Saturdays and Sundays) starting June 30th. Ready to Nosh even offers private tours – what a great company team building activity! Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased with credit cards or Paypal and tickets must be bought in advance.
