A little piece of nostalgia can be found at the corner of Route 100 and Gordon Drive in Exton. Jake’s Wayback Burger (807 N Pottstown Pike) is a throwback to the great American roadside burger stand.
Travel back in time as you sip your shake or malt, take a bite of your award-winning burger, or pull up silver stool along their barn red walls with photos of yesteryears in classic burger joints. Regardless of whether you are looking for a slow meal or something on the run, be prepared for some fresh foods cooked up by smiling faces.
Each juicy and tender burger is hand pressed on the grill to fully capture flavor and is made to order. Ingredients are a la carte and the burgers come in three sizes: Junior burger (one patty), a Jake burger (two patties) or the Big Jake (three patties). They also offer grilled or breaded chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, giant, crispy onion rings, salads, turkey burgers, veggie burgers and kids meals – perfect for any picky eater in your family.
The large burgers at Jake’s also have found their perfect dining companion – thick milkshakes made from hand dipped ice cream (you won’t find any frozen yogurt here). Their 12 creamy shakes will have you sipping for seconds. While you are there, be sure to check out Jake’s “m.o.m.” and “b.o.m.” Their milkshake of the month is the root beer float and burger of the month is the rodeo burger – a large patty topped with onion rings and drizzled with barbecue sauce.
Customer service is number one priority to franchise owner Don Brown, and it shows. Customers are greeted at the door, orders are called out by first name and brought to your tables, customers have repeatedly commented about the staff friendliness and regulars return a few times a week.
Don loves dealing with the customers, both familiar and new faces, and getting to know each one. “Last week, there was a gentleman in the area visiting, who just happened to stop in here and had a burger. As he left, he said, ‘this is the best burger I’ve had in six years’,” said the cheery Brown.
Jake’s takes an active role in the community and often invites local schools (they are hosting one for the Lionville Elementary next week), teams, and organizations to hold fundraisers at the store.
