Kimberton Whole Foods Offers Farm Tours as Part of 25th Anniversary

In honor of Kimberton Whole Foods’ 25th anniversary, they have launched their farm tour series, arranging local tours at all our favorite producers’ farms. As they have stated on their blog,  they decided to “recognize their local farmers for their food contributions to providing Real Food from Local Roots and belief in organic and/or biodynamic farming methods.”

Throughout July and August, they will host a variety of farm tours from dairy farms to poultry farms to orchards. The first of their series was at Seven Stars Farm, which you may view the recap by clicking here. The second was this past weekend, July 9, at Highspire Hills Farm of Glenmoore.

For 20 years, Duane and Deborah, owners of Highspire Hills Farm, have been producing high-quality jumbo, large and extra-large brown eggs from the best layers around, the Golden Comet chickens. One year ago, Duane and Deborah formed a partnership with Kimberton Whole Foods to raise non-GMO chickens, which are fed with non-GMO and organic feed, and now have a total of 250 organic birds. Continue reading about the local farm who also delivers their eggs to specialty restaurants in the area, including Victory Brewing Company, Ron’s Original, Dilworthtown Inn and its Blue Pear Bistro, by clicking here.

The next farm tour will be held on Saturday, July 16, 3 to 5pm, at Meg’s Eggs. To reserve your spot, email [email protected]. Visit Kimberton Whole Foods’ events page for even more farm tour opportunities, which will run through the end of August.
