West Chester’s Pale Horse is Ready to Take You on a Culinary Joy Ride

A Pale Horse represents a great change, and that certainly has taken place at 29 E. Gay St. in West Chester. Pale Horse offers a unique dining experience for anyone who is looking for a bold menu, great drinks, and is the perfect backdrop for a quick business lunch, a night out on the town, a private party or date night.

The beautiful hardwood floors, tan walls lined with local artwork and the stunning dining room whisper refined elegance. But the warm and welcoming staff and large-screen TVs give off the vibe that they have been a neighborhood favorite for years.

Pale Horse’s kitchen is not just filled with the freshest local ingredients, but with lots of passion. Chefs Andrew Vogt and Lloyd Francis strive to give every diner the best experience possible, and they create dishes with a fusion of flavors.

Being a co-owner of a fantastic restaurant has always been Vogt’s dream, and he is rarely

without a smile.

“It makes every second here worth it, hearing people come in and saying, ‘This is absolutely awesome,’ ‘I’ve never had this before,’ or ‘This is great,’” Vogt said. “Or people coming back just to try something because it was different. I am living the dream. I say it every day. This is the opportunity of a lifetime.”

Pale Horse’s menu is always changing. Some of their popular dishes include seared diver scallops in a roasted shitake champagne cream, a granny smith apple salad with a honey walnut vinaigrette, and lollipop lamb chops that are charbroiled and served over thyme and roasted garlic polenta. Their menu includes seafood dishes, fresh game creations like Venison osso bucco, and creative creations like Asian Duck egg roll with fresh vegetables.

Despite their upscale atmosphere, Pale Horse invites everyone to pull up a stool at their beautiful wooden bar and have an amazing dining experience. Everything on their menu is meant to be paired with their 51 craft beers, and they love suggesting pairings.

“Flavors are things that I am most excited about,” Vogt said. “To be able to have something that accents everything, it’s a perfect pairing, whether it be wine, beer or scotches. That is what we are aiming to do. Yeah, we do the linens on the table, but we don’t have a dress code. We don’t care who you are or what you look like, we want you to

come and have an experience.”

From Wednesday to Sunday, they offer live entertainment including jazz nights, rock bands, bluegrass, violin trios and DJs, and the last Thursday of the month is comedy night. From their entertainment to their beer and menu, variety is the spice that’s frequently used at Pale Horse.

On- and off-site catering is available. Find them on Facebook (Palehorse Gastropub) or visit www.palehorsepub.com to learn more, or call 610-738-3948.
