Photos Live of EATS (Eat Along the Street) Food Festival & Celebrity Chef Throwdown

Join Chabaa Thai‘s Chef Moon Krapugthong and Space by Spielman, Ltd., president Judy Spielman as they kicked off Manayunk’s Eco Arts Festival last night, Sept. 21 in culinary and philanthropic style, at their first-ever EATS (Eat Along the Street) Food Festival at Propper Brothers?

The TownDish‘s own Mary Bigham was delighted to be part of the evening’s judging panel, alongside food industry heavy-hitters (Iron Chef Jose Garces, Author/Chef Aliza Green, Owner of Tashan/Tiffin Munish Narula) and fellow food writers (Philadelphia Inquirer’s Rick Nichols and City Paper’s Food Editor Drew Lazor).

Hopefully you had the opportunity to taste your way through Manayunk’s food scene, grabbing scoops of Whirled Peace’s Pumpkin Pie ice cream, slices of pizza from the traveling brick-oven pizzeria NoMad, crumbs of Dining Car’s Jewish Apple Cake, nibbles of Lucky’s Last Chance’s PB & Bacon Burgers served up with a side of jelly, and much, more more!

Congrats to the evening’s winners, to Zesty’s for receiving the people’s choice award, and to Tony Clark of The Old Grange (all the way from Cape May, NJ) for nabbing first place is the culinary throwdown. Also, we must send along tons of praise to John Brandt-Lee of Avalon/Avalon Pasta Bistro for grabbing the runner-up spot amongst all the competing chefs – a job well done!
