Take Your Love of West Chester To New Heights at the Up on the Roof Party!

Do you love West Chester? What about a lavish outdoor party under a blanket of stars with a birds eye view of our fine town? If you answer is yes to either of the above, be sure to get your tickets to the 9th Annual Up On The Roof party on Saturday, June 4. The party is presented by Univest National Bank and Trust Co. and will be from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Chestnut Street Garage at 14 E. Chestnut Street.

Celebrate all things West Chester as you nosh on hors d’œuvres from local favorites and mingle with the who’s who of West Chester, including the mayor, city council members and business leaders.

Taste your way through town with light appetizers from Doc Magrogans, Side Bar, Kildare’s and other West Chester favorites. A light meal will be provided by Barnaby’s and Landmark, but save room for tasty treats from Cakes and Candies by Maryellen and Tally Ho Coffee.

Each year, Dave Goldman of Landmark and Frank Herron of Barnaby’s (and this year, with the help of newcomer Swig Bartending) will craft two Rooftop martinis for the event – one is always sweet, one is savory. Both martinis are always a big hit and a surprise, so you have to attend this fabulous party to find out. In case you prefer something that’s not shaken or stirred, there is a cash bar filled with plenty of libations to choose from.

Swing the night away with the sounds the John Hoey Orchestra, an 11-member band that plays pure funk, R&B, dance music from the 60s and 70s and swing music from the 30s, 40s and 50s. Throughout the evening, guests will have chances to win gift baskets from area businesses.

“My favorite memories from Up On The Roof always include spending an early summer night with friends who enjoy and support Downtown West Chester,” said West Chester Downtown Foundation Preside and Jane Chalfont Owner, Pat Comerford. “It is a great party to see old friends and meet new people who are connected and committed to our downtown. The unique rooftop location, festive martinis and music are a fantastic background for a fun night in the heart of West Chester.”

The event will have a new location this year, the Chestnut Street Garage, which will offer a higher view of West Chester’s picturesque buildings and charming neighborhoods. In the event of rain, the party will be moved to a lower level.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person before May 27 or $80 per person at the door. But there are only a limited amount of tickets at the door so buy them now! Tickets can be reserved by calling the West Chester Business Improvement District office at 610-738-3350 or buying online through PayPal.

Proceeds from Up on the Roof go towards the WC Business Improvement District and the West Chester Downtown Foundation, which support efforts to beautify and market downtown West Chester. The event is coordinated by Maggie McIntosh Event Design and McIntosh describes the event as a casual and fun gathering with no set schedule, just an evening of eating, drinking, listening to music and partying.

The party is smack dab in the middle of one super weekend; which kicks off with a Swingin’ Summer Thursday, a free street festival filled with live blues music that begins on Thursday. Browse through 18 art exhibits with the Gallery Walk on Friday and finish the weekend with Super Sunday, a fun-filled family festival full of food, crafts, amusement rides, crafts and live music.
