Great Valley Nature Center, of Rt. 29 & Hollow Rds. in Devault, announce that they will be hosting two must-attend events through the summer.
11th Annual Golf Classic
The first is on June 9th – the 11th Annual Golf Classic. Held at the Kimberton Golf Club, this golf classic will begin with a 1:00 pm Shotgun Start and conclude with a Live Bird of Prey Program where participants can meet the birds up close! . The event is $85 a person and includes golf fees, cart, soda, beer, hot buffet dinner and prizes. It will be held in a scramble format consisting of foursomes hitting their shots from the spot where the best ball lands. Only team scores – no individual scores. Marsh Creek Raptor Run
The second event the local nature center is hosting is the Marsh Creek Raptor Run at Marsh Creek State Park on July 31, 2011 at 9:00 am. Registration starts at 7:45 am and runs until 8:45 am. There is a registration fee of $25 if postmarked by July 22 and a t-shirt is included.
After the July 22 deadline registration is $30 including a t-shirt. Once t-shirts run out registration goes down to $25. Checks should be made payable to “Great Valley Nature Center.”

Online registration is available on www.pretzelcitysports.com up to Wednesday, July 27 at midnight. The course of the run is on a beautiful, scenic lakefront, shaded trail. It is perfect for beginners with enough technical challenges to keep experts on their toes as well. The race has forests, rolling hills, grassy meadows, messy mud holes, downed trees and more!
There will be water stops every 2.5 miles on the trail with a lot of post race food, vendors, and race results! 100% of the proceeds go to the Great Valley Nature Center – please consider making a donation or becoming a race sponsor!
