Yellow Springs Farm, a Native Plant Nursery and Artisanal Goat Cheese Dairy founded by Catherine and Al Renzi of Chester Springs, announces its upcoming Fall Farm Open House, to be held on Fri., Sept 9 from 12 noon to 6 pm and Sat. and Sun., Sept. 10-11 from 10 am to 4pm, rain or shine.
Admission is free for the open house and all are invited to come taste and purchase their popular farmstead, artisanal goat cheeses. Yellow Springs’ Fieldstone cheese won a 2011 American Cheese Society award in Montreal, which joins their 2010 ACS winners, the Red Leaf and Nutcracker.
Additionally at this upcoming fall festival will be nutritious and delicious goat milk yogurt smoothies that will be ready to drink, or you can take it home for another day. The award-winning cheese makers will have a goat cheese sauce and goat milk caramel sauce available that make great gifts for the upcoming cold-weathered holidays.
And, just when you thought your cheese-loving heart was already in a mouthwatering frenzy, Yellow Springs reveals that they will have local, raw honey in stock for sale.
Also blooming at the September event will be about 200 species of native trees, shrubs, grasses, ferns and wildflowers, plus some natural and organic garden care products. When you are finished shopping for plants, the fun has just begun. Browse their gardens, get a photo with their herd of Nubian goats, and enjoy featured pottery by local artist, Cara Graver.
