If you consider yourself a bit of a “wino” but have never been to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar then your self-proclaimed title might not be all it’s cracked up to be. Luckily for you, here is a special event that will redeem all your credibility by giving you a chance to taste truly amazing wine, learn from an expert, and dine on the delicious offerings that Fleming’s first presented to the public in 1998 from their Newport Beach, California location.
So why is this tasting particularly special? The event takes place at Fleming’s only Pennsylvania location in Radnor, on Friday, April 20 at 6:30 pm, and it possesses a unique flare because Pio Cesare is one of the few, maybe the only, winemaker in Piemonte, Italy who actually owns their own vineyard. Most artisans of that area rely on local producers/growers for the Nebbiolo grapes. However, Pio Cesare has the upper hand because many years ago the two families (Pio and Cesare) had the foresight to become landowners, giving them unrivaled control over the quality of their wines.
Fleming’s will be pouring four selections from Pio Cesare’s portfolio, each a perfect expression of Piemontese terroir. These wines will be paired with a 4-course menu from Fleming’s Chef Partner, Davis Langhorne. Italian wine expert, Dave Dahme of Pio Imports, will be there throughout the entire meal to educate diners on the pairings and carefully selected wines. Tickets are $95 per person for the entire meal, educational bits, and 4 paired wines. Reservations can be made by calling 610-688-WINE (9463).
