Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild Presents Third Annual Philadelphia Honey Festival

It’s only the 3rd year for this extra sweet festival but already people are buzzing!

The Third Annual Philadelphia Honey Festival will take place from September 7th to September 9th and the plans are bigger and better than ever. Presented by the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild, the Honey Festival boasts events at the Wagner Free Institute of Science, Wyck Historic House & Garden and Bartram’s Garden. Guests are invited to take a safe peek inside a working beehive, learn how use the honey for delicious dishes and enjoy many family-friendly festivities while learning about the importance of bees.

Better yet, the Philadelphia Honey Festival is completely FREE to attend. However, if you’re interested in buying some of the best honey around then a little extra cash may go a long way.

For those weary of attending their second year in a row, let it be known that the 2012 Honey Festival has many new elements. As briefly mentioned, a Honey Happy Hour is set to unravel at the fest, featuring Stonekeep Meadery, Prism Brewing Company, Earth Bread + Brewery and honeycomb ice cream from the Franklin Fountain. New local artists, authors and the Pennsylvania Honey Queen will be on site! Plus there will be hands-on activities like beeswax candle making and seed bomb workshops.

There is plenty to keep you busy as a bee. Check out the full schedule and event website, HERE.
