There are many ways to celebrate the Chinese New Year, but if it doesn’t involve top notch cuisine then we don’t want to know about it. That’s not entirely true but what would a celebration be without great eats? Buddakan of Atlantic City is quick to agree with us Dish Trippers, as they offered up quite the kickoff to the Year of the Snake by featuring a Chinese New Year menu.
Dish Trip’s Jason Tremblay decided to hit Buddakan AC to celebrate the Year of the Snake by devouring the Chinese New Year Tasting. Find his photographic recap below.
Toasting to Fortune (left) & Courage (right)… apparently wasabi and sake are key ingredients in courage.
First course: Longevity noodle soup with napa cabbage & shiitake mushrooms, plus a Cantonese shrimp roll.
Sliding into second courser at Chinese New Year: Peking Duck lettuce wraps with hoisin glaze! No better way to bite into this celebration.
Peek at Buddakan’s San Bei Basil Chicken Hot Pot. It packs the perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and you can’t bypass the whole cloves of roasted garlic either.
Photo evidence of Buddakan’s whole fish we devoured (eye included) with forbidden black rice & black garlic. One of us was going to eat the other—we acted first!
Eye-catching grand finale at Buddakan’s Chinese New Year Tasting: Mandarin Cheesecake crafted with perfect combo of chocolate & hint of mandarin. Bravo!
