La Colombe to Start Distilling Spirits in Philadelphia

LaColombeA big time favorite coffee producer is branching out in many ways and there’s probably not a fan around who will be mad about it. After venturing back from a trip to Nepal, coffee magnate Todd Carmichael—founder of La Colombe and host of Dangerous Grounds on Travel Channel dropped the bomb that his coffee roasting ways will soon set up shop in DC and they are also finishing agreements for two more locations, one in Philly, and another in New York City. That’s not all.

Their new Philadelphia location, which will be located in the up and coming Fishtown neighborhood, will feature a full on distillery for La Colombe’s normally private spirits. They’re now licensed to make their own rum, and production has already begun.

Carmichael also shared that these new locations “will be the next generation of cafes with cupping centers, labs, cutting edge brewing equipment and cool coffee kits.” Clearly, there is plenty on the horizon to keep your eye on and PA Eats will definitely be scoping it out as progress moves forward. Apparently, tastings are already in the works. Stay tuned for more details and don’t forget to comment below with you excitement!
