Pirouette and grand jete your way to Chestnut Hill on Saturday, November 15, for Pennsylvania Ballet Day! From noon–3 p.m., enjoy town-wide ballet-themed events in a fun, family atmosphere:
- Go on a Scavenger Hunt with a grand prize of four tickets to The Nutcracker at the Academy of Music
- Meet dancers from Pennsylvania Ballet
- Have your photo taken with the Sugar Plum Fairy
- Enjoy special menus at local restaurants
- Meet the Mouse King
- Get creative with arts & craft activities, including free coloring activities and more at the Market at the Fareway
- Visit Zipf’s Candy for special ballet-themed chocolates
Pick up your Scavenger Hunt Map at The Chestnut Hill Welcome Center, located at 16 E. Highland Avenue, or at any of the participating shops on the Scavenger Hunt.
Then, from 5–8 p.m., you’re invited to the premiere Philadelphia exhibition of Jordan Matter‘s fine art photography featuring the Pennsylvania Ballet. Meet Angel Corella, Artistic Director of Pennsylvania Ballet, at this very special champagne reception, to be held at the Carol Schwartz Gallery, located at 101 Bethlehem Pike in Chestnut Hill. Tickets for the event, $100, include a signed copy of Matter’s New York Times best-selling book Dancers Among Us and can be purchased online.
