Coming Soon to Douglassville, Pennsylvania: Hidden River Brewing Company

On the other side of these wintery months lies the promise of a new brewery opening in Douglasville. What was once Covatta’s Brinton Lodge on Rt. 724 will be the foundation of Hidden River Brewing Company. Owners Doug Reeser and Kevin Margitich hope that, come June, you’ll be able to jump in your kayak, boat over to Brinton Lodge and sip a Hidden River craft beer while perusing the museum in the historic building.

“We’ve been home brewers for about eight years or so. I started in grad school and [Kevin] started shortly thereafter,” Reeser said. “We’ve been drinking craft beer since the ’90s. It has been sort of a goal for both of us or a dream for us to get into it.” Doug and Kevin plan to get a strong start using local ingredients paired with some seriously bold flavors. Ghost pepper bold, in fact.
