The Olde Bar, the newest location in the ever-expanding Garces Group empire, opened last Friday night in the former location of Philadelphia’s iconic Bookbinder’s. According to Chef Jose Garces, the man behind the revamp:
“We’re paying homage to the original traditions that made Bookbinder’s a landmark in Philadelphia. It’s an important responsibility to live up to the history of the building and the expectations for the space. We’re going to do our best to re-create the nostalgia of that place and time, but with our own spin.”
Open daily from 4 p.m.–2 a.m., The Olde Bar, billed as “a new interpretation of a classic oyster saloon,” will be serving a menu that includes Chef Garces’ innovative approach to seafood classics in addition to a creative cocktail program. We’ve got our eye on Happy Hour, served up daily from 4–6 p.m. and featuring:
- $1 Buck a Shuck Chef’s Choice Oysters
- 3/$5 or 6/$10 Select East Coast Oysters
- $5 Snacks: Salt and Vinegar Nuts, Roll Mops, Beef Fat Fries, Golden Buck and Oysters Belmont
